Default Gallery: Fog

It seemed some members were getting a bit burnt out on these galleries, but some time has gone passed, and hopefully, some members will contribute.

Basically, the title says it all. Show off your best fog images. I don't have too many to share, but I enjoy viewing fog/haze photos. I think they provide a dramatic feel, in many cases.

I don't recall seeing this photo in the DB, but it's definitely a very neat image. Well worthy of the SC and PCA it received!

One of my favorite fog shots in the DB is the following..

Railroad photography is what you make of it, but one way is not "better" than another, IMHO. Unless you have a pole right thought the nose of the engine! -SG

I have a few from a couple of places that seem to be in the fog MOST of the time:

One from the Cass Scenic Railroad. If the sun has ever shined there in May, I've never seen it.

And a couple from Mt. Washington. The sun is always shining when I leave the base station and it's nearly always zero-zero by the time I get to the top.

Max,

It's a great shot, but the B&W conversion is a little flat. It needs more contrast. However, with that yellow, green and red RS1 on the point, I think a color shot coming out of the fog would be much more dramatic and would have done better in views.

Agreed. It looks really nice with good contrast, and with less sky at the top. Here is one take. Of course, I was not there so I can't know just how obscured the train was by fog, maybe the original better represents the reality at trackside.

EDIT: forgot to say, hope it is ok to take the shot and offer up a remix, you didn't ask for advice. I just found it interesting to work the picture, no offense intended. A nice one!

Thanks for the kind words guys. Kinda surprising it was so foggy as a mere 3 hours later I got this:
