Question Oh, Boy...Leveling Help

Trying to get this shot on, but I've gotten dinged with the unleveled rejection. I almost have no problem with leveling my stuff, but this one has me kind of stumped. I have a feeling that they want more CW rotation, but then that will, IMO, make the train look like its leaning when it's on a straight, leveled track...maybe I'm going crazy.

First Attempt:

Second Attempt:

Opinions?

Hi Anthony,

Actually, these are not too difficult. On a wedge-type composition, get the locomotive vertical edges looking vertical. Most postprocessing software has a crop/straighten tool that you can use. Go for the left front corner of this engine and get that edge straight up and down. On the first is leaning left and the second is leaning right.

You went too far on the second attempt. Split the difference between the two and you should be fine.

Colors seem off.

I personally have had a problem with those trying to tell us to turn railroad photography into an "art form." It's fine for them to do so, I welcome it in fact, but what I do have a problem with is that the practitioners of the more "arty" shots, I have found, tend to look down their nose's at others who are shooting more "mundane" shots.
Railroad photography is what you make of it, but one way is not "better" than another, IMHO. Unless you have a pole right thought the nose of the engine! -SG

You were right Max.

Gotta work on the color and see what they're what it is they're wanting...

Anthony, it seems like a slight aqua color cast is in the lower left third of the image. If you "warm" up the colors a bit, that might correct things.

It seems like you lost quality on your latest attempt. Your first 2 seemed fine, but the third didn't look nearly as good.

Jake took the words right out of my mouth. Latest attempt has signs of PIQ. Did you start over from the original copy or make adjustments to the rejected one?
