I would say a good average would probably be what the entire website's average is. I think it's currently around 300.

My average is 349.42, but that is skewed due to a handful with a large number of views. Anyway, here is my closest to the average photo.

Well, it says my average is 289.77, strangely enough the only two shots that I can find to round up to are at 298. And they are AMTRAK photos, as a railfan, I hate passenger trains, not even sure what convinced me to shoot them.
Anyways, I rounded down instead to a photo that had 265 views. I'm glad I did, love to see Chessie System stuff, even though I'm not much of a Chessie fan. Love the C&O and Clinchfield, but just can't get too excited over the B&O.

My average is only 203.52. Although considering I've only used point-and-shoots, and have only photographed subway MU trains (and a couple hundred commuter rail, about a dozen or so Amtrak and a whopping THREE freight trains), that's pretty good.
This one has 206 views...

Odd tidbit
I was cruising through some of my older messages & found this post an average photo thread..... My average views went up from 325 to 345, but the neat thing is that the photo that is closest to my avg. is still the same one that it was on 9/03/05. Those of you that participated in this thread earlier check to see if you average photo is still the same one!
Should be fun to see if anyone else has the same photo as back in early Sept. as their avg.

Since my first post, 3 Sep, my average has gone up from 192.30 to 207.18. Here's the photo that had 207 views at this posting:
 | PhotoID: 102917 Photograph © Chris Paulhamus |
Why the jump in average? Well, since 3 Sep, I've only had 6 photos accepted in the time between then and when I left. It's easy for the average to go up when you're not submitting new stuff, so that's the reason, not because my stuff is getting any better...
