That NS engine just doesn't fit. I'm surprised it got accepted.

I am thinking, I wonder if we could have a section for Photoshop images and screen it to the same standard

Wow!

Reasons to photoshop a shot to excess for RP:

1) you are a clueless kid
2) you are a clueless adult
3) you really, really, really want to save your once in a lifetime shot and get it on RP
4) this case - why ?????????????????

More like the handrail shadows on the nose show it better.

Troy, you are taking this well, but why the crap do you want to get that shot on? Its TERRIBLE! Why did you want it on? That's what's really perplexing to me.

I really hope that's not John Ryan's "glass house" photo. I'm enjoying everyone being called out for Photoshopping and hopefully there's more to come. Looking forward to when the admins will eventually shop up and clear out some dead weight.

So was this revelation the dramatic conclusion? Or is there another one among us with skeletons in the portfolio?

Troy - request to remove that one, sheesh.

Photoshop doesn't kill photos; people do.

I have Photoshop Elements 7. I have 666 shots in the database. And I have never wanted a shot in the DB to this point.

As far as me taking it well. I dont know what you expected. I'm not going to blow up or be immature about it. I have no defense. As far as the why did I do it? You know, I cant answer that. That was several months ago, and it's obviously not a real noteworthy picture other than the CPL's which I was trying to document. I dont know what more to say...

Oh, I know I won't be at least I can just sit back and watch everybody get called out on their excellent Over-Photoshopping skills... That's what I meant.

And on a side note: Troy...REALLY? A Dash 9????

Replace Cocaine with RailPictures and then Rick James says it the best

I can understand the desire to make a shot better outside of the camera. My moon / signal shot which was captured in one frame, sucked the cup dry in views / favors / comments..

No need to even link it, because of how bad it performed..

Note the relatively measured tone of the discussion, with a mature adult who can take much worse, compared to the more strident tone earlier, with an immature teenager who has much less ability to deal with it. Perhaps the responses should have been reversed?

I would say its pretty immature to photoshop the front of one engine on to another. Does it make everything ok because he is civil about it? So if I photoshop some shots I wont get yelled at because I am civil about it?

I personally have had a problem with those trying to tell us to turn railroad photography into an "art form." It's fine for them to do so, I welcome it in fact, but what I do have a problem with is that the practitioners of the more "arty" shots, I have found, tend to look down their nose's at others who are shooting more "mundane" shots.
Railroad photography is what you make of it, but one way is not "better" than another, IMHO. Unless you have a pole right thought the nose of the engine! -SG
