If anyone wants an easy way to get to the 10,000 view club, get a shot of a accident or derailment. No matter how bad the photo is, people will view it a lot.

I've found that photos that are not my best often get viewed the most.

Example:

Also, if you have people in the shot, the views go up too:

But I'm straying off topic... Nice shot and congrats on getting into the 10,000 view club. It's just a matter of time before your in the 100,000 view club.

Yeah, the thumbnail had my head spinning until I looked at the full size image.

It reminded me of the thumbnail for this shot I took a few years ago:

Here's a different variation. Of 2201 of my images posted since the first one on December 13, 2002---here's the one with the lowest view count (261 at this moment).

In the spirit of the season: "Bah, Humbug!"

PS: I notice most of my shots that run over 10,000 views are derailments. In fact about half of the top 20 are images of derailments. That either means: (1) folks are inordinately fascinated with images of some tragedy, or (2) my conventional photography sucks.

I think it's about 50-50....

Good idea, Ron, poor execution. You didn't adjust for viewing opportunities, i.e., time in the database.

Looking at your least popular shots, most are recent uploads, no surprise, including Santa. But two are not. So, drum roll ..., here are the Ron Flanary losers of all time:

Matt, you mucked things up royally! First of all, you have two cab shots, that one falls short of the "club", you meant to link to this one (photoid has the same digits in 5 of 6 positions):

Image © Matthew Hicks
PhotoID: 242191
Photograph © Matthew Hicks

The other shot also isn't in the club yet, although it won't take long, it is at 9788. A beauty, nonetheless.

Of course, you have so many in the club that, I can imagine, it must be very, very difficult for you to keep track of them all!

That shot of the CSX train really sucks canal water, and should have been rejected. It's not sharp at all.

But---I love the yard limit sign.

If you feel like it, you can ask them to yank the shot and then you'll be at 2200 again... In fact, funny as it seems, in my experience, the admins are pretty quick to respond to such requests.

That thought did come to mind. But Matt hardly needs to be doing that, don't ya thunk?

What....and lose out on all the money, the fame, and the hot chicks I pick up because of RP?

This was scanned from a slide, and maybe I'll dig it out and rescan and submit something better. The only real problem is a lack of sharpness.

Maybe if I do that, it'll get over 10,000 hits!

And my pic of the same engine hasn't even broken 2000 views yet . . . I'm with Mr. Pick (whose use of the proper plural form of y'all I applaud!).
