The locomotive was moving here. But it's still a roster shot. Not sure exactly what you mean here.
Actually (and I'll take my lesson from Janusz here) that's not a roster shot. You have three rails in the middle of doing their job in the picture.

That's not to take anything away from it... it's a great pic... it's just not a roster shot.

Well, I don't know if I would say it was great when comparing to it to many other shots in the database , but it was a properly exposed, not front-coupled angle, just as stated in the guidelines:

Properly exposed, non-front coupled roster shots are accepted and welcome.

Well, I was chiming in with a view, I don't think I am the arbiter of roster shots (or anything else; maybe how to pronounce my name ). I was not a participant in the roster shot exchanges of days of yore. But I would say that having employees on the engine means it's not a roster shot. It should be all about the engine, in my view or understanding of what it means.

RP does not actually define roster shot to my knowledge, certainly not in the quote Carl cites and I haven't seen it anywhere else.

Or call it a roster shot with employees. Or an almost-roster shot.

Don't, if its there when in real life, then it should be in your photo.
