Default New CSX Loco on ES44ACs

CSX's new ES44AH/ES44ACs (or whatever this order is designated) are indeed bearing the "how tomorrow moves" boxcar logo...I personally don't care for the logo, but apparently someone did...

http://www.trainorders.com/discussio....php?2,2595869

(and yes, I did mean the thread title to say "CSX loGO")

There's a CSX loco on an ES44AC?

I am guessing he meant, new CSX logo on ES44AC, although there are ES44AC locos on CSX.

I saw a pic, I am not a fan...

I saw a few YN2 AC6000's today and still think that is the best looking CSX thing out there with the yellow/blue CSX on the side.

Yeah, I couldn't agree more. The "Big-Sixes" scheme with the yellow lightning lettering is sweet. It's too bad they couldn't have done it to more units.

CSX hasn't had a good paint scheme, in my opinion, since they stenciled ancestor motors with CSXT marks.

I don't know - as far as CSX schemes go, I think this is about the best they've done.
But maybe that's because it's the closest they've come to the classic B&O/C&O scheme.

Could someone post the picture of the new logo on here for members who arnt on train orders, just so we can appreciate the crappyness at full size.
I agree with Troy, the AC60 paint scheme was the best as far as CSX paint schemes go, normal YN2 isnt bad either. Most people hate the pre-YN2 paint jobs, but the first attempt honestly wasnt bad:

CSX-B was another of my favorites

As for YN3 being good because of it resembling the C&O B&O paint scheme, those paint schemes were just austerity money saving schemes, something that should have been left in the past. CSX has so many better paint schemes they could revive.

Not very difficult to imagine.

Just picture this boxcar logo: http://www.csx.com/

It doesn't weather gracefully, but it is the best thing on the road!

Although, on the right locomotive, YN3 can look halfway decent, and YN2 can look like trash...

To be honest, I do like those paint schemes. Just yesterday I saw a six axle Dash 8 in the YN1 and hated I didn't know it was coming so I could set up for it. I liked the YN3 when it was first applied and honestly, anything looks good on a GP30 body or Dash 7. I was never a fan of the YN2 because of the slanted yellow coming off the nose. I think it looked pretty bad.

Maybe they could get a real name. The paint scheme would naturally follow.

And so tastes differ, my favorite is the YN2 because of the slanted yellow! Plus it isn't nearly as dark a blue as the current DF scheme, which doesn't stand out from the side against the tree tunnels of my area. Next thing we know, they will go darker yet and it will be like shooting NS.

First, I dont think the YN3 is "bad", it's at least an attempt at a paint job unlike NS's unimaginative all black paintjob that they "radically" spiced up by applying a white stripe above the cab (lol!)

I really wish they would have used the same blue and yellow colors as they used in the YN2, it would have made it a LOT better looking. Even if they just used the yellow, that mustard yellow they are using is about as ugly as that UP Yellow...

Joe, can you link the actual picture URLs here or do they not work regardless for non-members?

I like it now that I have seen a good photograph of one. It's a neat little tweak of a rather bland paint scheme.
