Maybe I'm being petty, but as someone who spends a lot of time ensuring that I am legally respecting railroad and private property when I photograph, this really bothers me.

I am 99% sure that this was taken on the Old Main Line.

What a bunch of pansies. Where is this? If it's Baltimore, they are taking their lives into their own hands for reasons other than a train hitting them

I think it's somewhere east of Mt. Airy, but I don't know for sure.

I prefer my douchebags to be standing in places where they can get seriously hurt. This is actually quite pleasant.

I see a lot of portraits on smugmug.com where people are photographed on railroad tracks, equipment, etc... It bothers me as well.

I've seen that happen myself (as in photog+couple on live railroad tracks).. Kind of bothersome how they take it for granted. Take one false step with something in the block and that wedding dress isn't the only thing getting wrecked...

It seems to draw people to take pictures their. I have seen a lot of photos like that and can not figure out why you would risk your life like that. I guess they think it is like the movies, a train comes slowly around the corner and blows the whistle and everyone gets off the tracks.

How about these? The first one is on a fairly busy CN line:

A train came about 5 minutes later on this one:

And here he is wondering why I was taking pics:

Nah, I was just hoping for a train to come in both instances. Nothing like seeing a bunch of idiots scramble for their lives! And by the way, both of these examples above were taken a few hundred yards from blind curves.

The bigger the bling, the smaller the brain. Probably compensating for something else that is tiny.

In the Carolina Rails group on Yahoo, we were having a similiar discussion. There is a lot in life to get bothered about and maybe it would be different to actually witness it in real. But seeing that picture does not bother me. I've seen enough in life to know that some people are just stupid. It doesn't affect me.

My favorite people on railroad tracks can't be linked to this site without getting me banned!

I think what would be funny is to get one of those horns from Horn Blasters and let her rip as they are standing their. I bet they would clear the tracks pretty fast!

One thing I can say for certain is that if a train comes by and lops off their heads, they won't have to worry about diabetes anymore.
