Default Getting my uploading back...

Yeah...I was told to contact "them" in 30 days to get my upload rights back, and it's been a few months....I have gotten no response....

Here are some that I'm looking to upload, some might need a little bit more work, I know but:

All of them could be candidates. I like the Amtrak 66 next to MP 66, very nice juxtaposition.

Are you really surprised that they haven't got back to you, after the way you have conducted yourself in the past on the site (uploading fake snow pictures) and in the forums (attacking people verbally)?

I'm not surprised they havent gotten back to you.

Being mostly a CN railfan, I love the last one quite a bit!

Trying working on the apologetic tone. With your history, even what you wrote above could be construed as whining and even a bit of playing the victim.

Now onto the shots and what I see, for what it may be worth to you:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/6074027...in/photostream

Perhaps a little CW rotation. Maybe 0.5% Nice looking engine.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/6074027...in/photostream

Not bad.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/6074027...in/photostream

Again, not bad. Doesn't blow me away. Signal on the right is leaning CCW.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/6074027...in/photostream

Poor lighting.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/6074027...in/photostream

Not bad, but maybe a little too in your face.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/6074027...in/photostream

Smack dab in Wedgieville by this point.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/6074027...in/photostream

No, just no, no, no. Too dark, unlevel and if I were you, I'd include proof that it was really snowing where you were. Frankly, if I were you, I would not upload actual, real snow shots to RP for a few years.

The lighting sucks on a lot of them, especially #2 and #3

  1. Decent lighting, but it looks like a snapshot that you didn't put any thought into; having the train perfectly centered while cutting off a chunk of the foreground isn't visually appealing. Also needs to be leveled.
  2. Nice composition, but questionable lighting for RP purposes.
  3. Great light, but once again the composition doesn't appear to have had much thought put into it; you chopped off the photo too closely on the right edge, spoiling the balance of what would otherwise have been a good photo.
  4. High sun = RP rejection.
  5. High sun, again. (Shouldn't you have figured that one out by now?)
  6. Cloudy/common. (Ditto...)
  7. With no snow on the ground, this looks faked (again). It's also extremely dark and you cut off the train at the right edge. Uncommon power does not automatically make a shot RP-worthy.

The lighting on #3 is not great (at least for RP.net criteria), it's side lit obviously. And you are right on about him being able to understand lighting issues by now as they relate to submissions.

Oh yea, and to answer your questions about getting uploads back, I was banned for a while and had my uploads cut off, obviously was brought apon by myself by acting like a idiot.

You have to tone it down, apologize and then ask for it back after a while. If they havent given it back yet, maybe you need to wait longer. I was knocked down to 1 upload for I think almost a year. Or maybe I just caught them on a day where they were feeling really nice. During that time, I think I also learned how to better pick the photos I upload.

Are you kidding? The snow doesnt look fake at all...

It's fine for them to do so, I welcome it in fact, but what I do have a problem with is that the practitioners of the more "arty" shots, I have found, tend to look down their nose's at others who are shooting more "mundane" shots.
Railroad photography is what you make of it, but one way is not "better" than another, IMHO. Unless you have a pole right thought the nose of the engine! -SG

The snow is definitely real. That said, you would need to heavily adjust the lighting if you wanted to get that one onto RP. The rest of the shots are good, but nothing overly special.

The point is that after the fake snow crap he pulled, he kinda needs Jim Cantore backing him up on whether it was snowing or not.

I think he's the one who sends himself there. Some of those weather guys get all gung ho about reporting in hurricanes. Most of us news guys would rather avoid them. And so far, I have!

The majority of those photos are pretty decent and with a little work would probably be accepted.... too bad you have had a terrible attitude and poor judgement in the past.

Sorry, I wrote the thread quickly as I was kind-pf on my way out the door, I wanted to get this posted so that when I come home, I could read everyone's replies. Didn't mean to sound whiny/a jerk.

Also, the shots I pulled off of Flickr, I know I have better, but those just looked good at the time. We'll see.

And what makes everyone think that snow is real, though?

I would've not only pulled your uploading privileges, but I would've kicked your forum posting abilities as well.

'Nuff said.
