So, back to your original beef! 3 in the afternoon can still give the effects of high sun. Look at the front of the locomotive and see how much of the cowl is in shadow, look at the side of the train and see how short a shadow it casts. Both signs of high sun!
Hence the "high sun" rejection. That's it!

What is wrong is it's not high sun, but pore light angle that is lighting your photo, Side lit! And not that it's a bad photo, just what wont get on. We all get shots kick out, take the Knife out your back, you will live. It is what you get with more then one guy screening photo's.

I'm dropping this, before I do say something that will get me banned. I dont agree with the screening consistency, for people fairly new to this site its a almost impossible hurdle to overcome when you are trying to learn what to submit here.

You will not convince me that a 10am or 3pm photo is considered high sun, sorry. And when 1230 noon shots of the same train on the same day are accepted, I dont need to say another word about it.

Exactly. Don't say anything about it, and don't worry about it. Shoot what you want and if it gets on here, great. If not, no need to whine like a tornado siren because of it. It just makes you look bad, not the screeners.

I think the damage has been done. I bet the pic might have made it in on appeal, but who knows now after this rampage. That's too bad on that one, two trains in the same shot is typically not an easy thing to catch.

In your shot all 4 motors show the dark side, Thats the bad light part. They don't have a side lit to put on it so pore light maybe high light sticker got slapped on it. We all had shots that wow this will kick butt, if you look at in 3 weeks from now you will see that it would bin a great shot if the light was behind your back!

Sounds like Keith needs to join another banned member's Yahoo group. He would be right at home over there where conspiracy theories abound....

I have had one rejected that I took at 6:30 pm for high sun. All well. It is in my personal collection. I honestly do not see why most people get so pissy when they get a photo rejected from here. Is there some prize that you get that I do not know about or something? I have 1 photo out of 10 that I submitted on here. Big deal! It is a hobby for me and not the end of the world. I do not make money off this site, but have made a buck or two else where off a shot that was rejected from here. They did not like it but someone else did.

Take a chill pill and move on, and add it to your personal collection.

Ya really it's just a hobby. It's not the end of the world. I know I don't worrie about it or lose any sleep.

I know if it wasn't for this website I wouldn't have had two of my shots published.

Theres just no need to bash this place or the screeners or other photos in the DB.

If you can't get on here post it on another railroad site. There's plenty of them. If you have a good shot, post it. If not, you can still post it on another site.

It's quite obvious he's already one of danny boy's disciples judging on the two pics he used as comparisons. Too much of a coincidence, IMO. It won't be long until he has a Failentine-esque meltdown (he's already half way there).

I definitely smell a rat with this one.

You need to be banned. I'm actually surprised you still have the right to throw "bitch fits" on here. It's obviously your "time of the month" and you're taking it out on RP.

Your shots deserved to be rejected and were rejected for clear and obvious reasons. The shot that was accepted offered a 10x better composition than yours and was definitely a more appealing image than your high sun EMD autorack train.

I'm adding my unwanted two cents here....

Autorack shot is high sun for sure, and looks like you shot it with a PnS. It looked to have some heat distortion too and it's not an exciting angle.

The 4449 shot is well deserving to be on this site.

hahahahahahahahaha
hahahahahahahahahaha
High sun this time of year is 10am - 5pm.
Who cares what shots got on.
Who cares about screener consistency.
Pick up the pieces and shoot a better shot. Why try to just squeeze one in? Take a great shot and put it on! Oh look, it's 12:31, time to go shoot since high sun is now void. hahahaha

Correct, but this is not a normal week. With Friday being a holiday, many people took long weekend vacations. For example, the highways to the Jersey Shore were bumper to bumper from Thursday evening all through yesterday. I'm sure some people took the whole week off as well.

Also, most of the Class Is will be shut down for the holiday, so with train traffic down, there won't be as many things to shoot as there usually are.

I'm sure the numbers will be back to normal when people get back home on Monday and start uploading the things they caught this weekend, myself included.
