Default PAQ: Worth an appeal?

I thought it is full rail related content (ok, streetcars - in fact: ex-streetcars). Thanks for opinions!

For a non-train shot to get on RP it usually needs to have some sort of compositional interest. This is a snapshot of a pile. Further, it is lacking in obvious RR content. It's a pile of old metal without even a section of track or something, in the foreground or background, for context. Could have been taken and maybe was taken in a scrap yard. Sorry to be harsh.

Definitely no appeal. This is not one of those "I strongly believe in this shot" shots. Not even close. Also, my first reaction was that it was a bit overexposed.

I would push it aside and move on.

Another point of view? I see to the left there is more recognizable trolley junk.
If there are more, thinking if you have a view of actual car bodies it might work better. Certainly junk piles seem to be a good seller on this site.

Hi Gabor,

I think the issue here is that the image lacks anything that jumps right out and says "this was a train." At first glance, it looks like just any scrap heap. As others have noted, if you had a car frame that was in the process of being dismantled in the shot, that would probably get accepted with no problem. We see successful shots of locomotives being dismantled all the time on RP. Again, it is what you see on first glance that matters. If the shot doesn't include a train, it needs to scream "railroad" in some other way.

Of course, you can always find exceptions! It wouldn't be RP without them.
