3. It is also unfortunate that none of the pictures I saw had captions, dates, locations etc.

1. The heavy train was making the ground vibrate, and that made things like signs shake. It was also very windy. Note this is a longer exposure, and vibrations will show up when shutter speed is longer.

2. For this, I used no flash. The light is courtesy of BNSF, used to light their switch. I waited until the train really got going as I wanted to show it was moving. To do that, I simply used a longer shutter speed to purposefully blur.

3. Most of the time when I park images on places like Flickr, I just want to link the image to another forum. That's where there's more detail. Most of my shots like this are intended to just show the --feel-- of a winter night on the Northern Plains. They are a representation of the whole region, not just Ruthton, MN.
