Default Should I upgrade to the Mark II

I am very happy with my Canon setup now. 5D, 40D and all L Lenses. But I have an oppertunity to get a relitivley new 5DMKII body for only 2K. I figure I can get $1200-$1500 on Ebay for my 5D w/grip, 6 batteries, and upgraded E grid focus screen. So effectivley I would only have about $500-$800 in it. My question is is it worth the upgrade?

Well do you need the higher ISO over the 5D? If you don't, I doubt it would make much difference.

What sorts of shots can't you get now that you will be able to get with the 5D2?

What sorts of shots do you take now that will show improved image quality with the 5D2, say due to better low noise characteristics?

Your RP shots only include 8 recent ones, so it is hard to tell what kind of a shooter you are, plus of course I have no idea about your non-train stuff. None of the 8 have the look of shots that would improve with the 5D2.

If your contact is selling his 5D MkII already, what does that tell you? Learn what you have and use it to it's FULL potential. I totally agree with Janusz, why do you THINK you need to upgrade?

Perhaps he can't afford it and now he needs to sell it? Maybe he lost his job and needs some quick cash to pay the rent? Who knows...

That is it, he is selling it because of money problems. I agree with most of what all of you are saying. I shoot more weddings and portraits than trains right now and use higher ISO often. I have had no problems with what I have but I guess I feel like opportunity is knocking and I should answer. If any of you have a MKII are you happy with it?

Buy it.

I found the 5DII to me a nice upgrade over the 5D. The extra resolution is nice, the noise at higher ISO is improved.
