Default Woof! (Bad Cropping)

Good evening gentlemen!

Here's my latest reject!

http://www.railpictures.net/viewreje...&key=797407897

I have room on all sides to play with. I also got a BC on a looser crop...

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Sometimes a cropping rejection is for a small edge element that needs to go. In the vertical, try getting rid of the tuft of grass lower right. I can also see cropping there because it may be a wee bit too tall and in particular too much dirt foreground. In fact, you could get rid of every part of the tire track with a crop.

I would crop or clone those dogs out of there. Some people like Mitch may disagree

I concur. Go with a 4:5 crop (or 5:4, depending how you look at it) and keep the top of the frame. That should put the lower edge of the frame somewhere above the tire track and below the dog.

Do you have a version where the train hsa moved closer to you and the dogs? I think that's where you went wrong; you got an itchy shutter finger.

No. That's all I have. Long story short it was a close call and my camera was in the wrong Drive mode (no idea how that happened), so I couldn't take a second shot.

I think you simply missed taking the best possible shot there, and should go back and redo it. I just can't see fighting for an "eh" version.

I don't think you should give up yet. I think you have too much sky in your latest reject. Try a crop like this, close to 4:5. Put your latest reject in one tab and mine crop in another tab and compare the two. You'll see my crop pulls the train a little closer.

They probably want me to crop out the dogs.
