Bad cropping, bad angle, Bad contrast.. http://www.railpictures.net/viewreject.php?id=221653

The second photo is indeed a much better crop. The fence on the left of the first photo needed to go. As for the contrast, the photo seems to be a bit washed out. Try to adjust the contrast and maybe add some color saturation to make the colors more vibrant, and it could have a chance of getting in.

maybe so, I'll try again with the 800x600 crop, with the saturations and contrast enhancements.
Give me three days.

Fooled around with it and ended up like so... is this a print scan?

Upped saturation, cropped better, sharpened, color corrected and applied Neat Image to take out some noise.

This'll probably get canned for 'Distracting Shadows.' That pole shadow across the longhood is a killer...

He isn't giving us ideas he is just preparing you for what is likely to happen. As of this post, we have 3,270 shots of UP SD70Ms in the database. Do we really need a rear angle shot of another one with a large shadow across the long hood? Just something to think about when making your decision to resubmit or keep for the personal collection.

I'll keep that in mind... I guess mine isn't any better than the rest.. except the fact that I took that shot,
Just out of currioisity, those painted on lines up to the top of the hood, what's them all about? anyone know? Do all UP SD70Ms have those on, or is it a work in progress? I would like to know just for kicks..

Are you referring to the red/gray "lightning stripe?"

The circles are where marker/class lights (I always get those confused). The oblong ones are where number boards could go. Think of them as cut-outs. The UP chooses not to use them...
