The new and old ones are actually from different originals it appears. Look at the waves on the bottom... and the train is slightly further along in the new version. The colors are far more believable, and the train looks nicely exposed. Clouds and water still have that "fake" look of HDR or a 1-shot EDR, but there's no doubt it's an outstanding scene.

I would really like to see the original file straight out of the camera, just out of curiosity.

I think it is clearer now that some of the bizarreness is actually due to the odd soil, water, moss, and rock colors - that foreground is an unusual combo! The sky is waaaay better, but, for my tastes, still weirdly dramatic to a degree. The train still looks well 'shopped. The shot as a whole still looks well 'shopped.
