Troy;

Your version is grey. The two versions offered to you by others are both fine examples of black and white. I'd go with one of theirs.

I get criticized for centering my shots, so I make an effort to bring the shot down. The lower right rule of thirds junction is exactly to the left of the C on the long hood. There is really nothing that interesting at the bottom of the frame that I cropped out.

Depend less on the rules and get an eye for what looks good visually.

I'd say a little less sky and more bottom still. I think if you add just a wee bit to the right, might look a little better if you have it.

Right on, Chris!! Never, and I mean NEVER be a slave to the "rules." In the world of creative railroad photography, there are no rules.

And that, boys and girls, is the lingering flaw of RP (although I'm at a loss as to how to make it better...).

Can I get a rivet counter to give me a leveling spot on this?

Really? That's not even close to being level. It doesn't take a rivet counter to tell that it is leaning to the right. Also, I think you might want to chop off a little from the right and some from the top and bottom to keep the aspect ratio. If not, bad cropping might be in your future.
