Bob... talking to Dan is talking to a wall... and unless it's the Western Wailing Wall, I don't think you'll get anywhere... he reminds me of this kid who got beat up all the time in my neighborhood. Everyone would give him a chance again and then he'd just start being a total jerk again, so everyone jumped on him again. I always felt bad for him, and never hit him myself, but when I told him that he called me a c-word.

He is an ass plain and simple.

Here is his rational if anybody cares to look:

Daniel Valentine
http://forums.railpictures.net/showthread.php?t=14566

Read post number 20 of this thread. It is by Bob Rule. Darryl Rules father. True, both Darryl and Bob Rule left comments on my images on RRPA. No matter what the content of those comments were, positive or negative, I removed them.

Did they not get the hint???

RRPA cannot block selective accounts from making comments on your images. So, all comments have to be blocked or accepted. What The Rules do, or do not want to understand is, that I do not want "EITHER OF THOSE TWO" commenting on my images on RRPA.

And they just will not respect that.

RP members that do not respect anothers wishes. Go figure.

Don't feel sorry for him, feel sorry for the poor individual(s) that are the result of his reproductive efforts, for they are the true victims of his selfishness.

That's funny... as if he has ever respected another railfan's wishes in his life.

Gonna bust a gut.

I think he means well, but the voices in his head cause him to act out and he spews in vitriolic tirades due to his lack of impulse control.

I think he could qualify as a case study in metal defectiveness and anti-social behavior.

Tripod head? I haven't tried that yet. All of my pan shots have been hand-held (although I really haven't attempted that many).

I do understand overall what you're saying, though.

For what it's worth, I've never used a tripod for a pan shot either. Mine have all been hand jobs...

I've panned a lot of Top Fuel and Nitro Funny Cars. Going to have to try a train...they certainly move much slower and at a steady rate!

Putting aside any commentary on "hand jobs" - I am trying, I am trying! - I have done it both ways, this one was by hand. (I can't help it, I am a long-time forum participant. The only point is to search for opportunities to display one's own long forgotten shots!)

You can use a tripod instead of doing a hand job?

Uh!

I did not know that.

Um... note to self, do not tag along with Mr. Flanary if he is planning on a pan shot.

I'd be careful around Janusz, as well.

Out of a strong sense of modesty I do typically conduct those sort of activities well away from trackside.
