Foggy day success?

Anyone has success with getting foggy shots accepted? I’ve trued numerous different photos, of numerous different scenes, but had zero success with them. My latest attempt (posted below) got the “Cloudy/Common” rejection. Not really much I can do about it, I guess. But just wondering if anyone who has has success with fog can give some pointers, or should I just post these type of shots to Flickr and forget them on RP?

Yes, I've gotten some accepted. Converting it to B&W makes the fog invisible, what does the original version look like?

I'd have to see the color version, but the fog doesn't appear dramatic enough in the BW conversion to have any impact to the shot. As linked, it's very drab with poor tonal contrast.

Here's one I just randomly pulled from my phone (I store most of my websized files on it) that emphasizes the fog.

Thanks for the input guys. I’ll give the color version another look. I honestly never even edited it in color. I converted it to B&W right off the bat...

Either more fog so you really have that coming out of the fog and the headlight picking up the fog or something more in the background, ie better location. Michael's kinda cheating, smile, not everyone can have Montréal in the background. I am cheating also, but the idea is it more than just a fog photo.
I do like the exhaust effect so maybe the color will work.

I like the shot simply because its different. Its just screener mood, IMO.
There are tons on fog and cloudy day shots on RP. I recently tired a shot from Strasburg RR where I had mostly cloudy skies with hints of blue sky in it, I was standing at a grade crossing with #89 steaming right at me down the grade with Thomas the Tank Engine cleared up in a siding on the left. It got cloudy and common power. I'm still scratching my head figuring out how Thomas or #89 is common power. Cloudy I get it been then again cloudy is in with RP right now. So I think they a new rejection button "Its good but, No thanks"

Something about your processing (aside from the b&w) is making the fog look more like smoke. It has a "dirty" look to it. Like the others have said, it may work better in color.
