Default High sun angle in the Morning

This one was rejected for not enough color depth or too much color saturation as well as poor lighting. I know that the other side of the train is in shadow, but I thought that would help concentrate the viewers eye on the front of the locomotive.

Anything I can do?

Knock down the saturation and see if that helps. Everything seems blown out.

Default High Sun Angle

Looks like the sun was at the wrong angle (happens to me too). It would have been better if you shot it when the train was besides you. High Sun usually means the trucks or wheels are shadowed, or it's just not enough light to properly light the engine. From sunrise until about 10:00 AM, and from about 3:00 to sunset are the best times to shoot. I get the High Sun angle rejection at times too. I get kind of sad, but then when I look back at the photo, I understand why it was rejected. Awesome catch, Mike! I haven't seen a New Logo on the Transcon yet.

It also looks like you oversharpened that image.

Yes, it is slightly oversharpened I suppose. Oh well, I've tried reducing saturation several times to no avail. It has been rejected twice for both bad angle and cropping. I guess its about time to put this one in the archives.
Try going out in the morning Nick, the two I've seen have been before 12:00. And now that I think about it, they were both leading the first trains of the day.
