How would you measure how much better the color blue is than the color orange? That's just it--you're in a realm where there can be no objectivity. As for "faves", everybody knows they aren't a measurement of how good a shot is so much as a measurement of how many shots from others an individual has "faved." It's become a measurement of of social activity, not quality. At some point, maybe it's not important to measure how "good" a shot is--you just know it? The knowledge that you pulled off a great shot is fulfillment in itself? I've often thought I'd rather have two or three people I really admire (including but certainly not limited to Joel Jensen, Brian Plant, Steve Crise) than a 100 "faves" from people I either don't know or whose images I don't personally find compelling.
