Default ICE power

I've been hearing lately that the ICE SDs may be sent back to their leasing company sometime this year. Has anyone else heard anything about that?

Nothing I've heard on the SD40-2s being returned. However, I do know for certain the batch of 10 4200 series GP40-2s have been rounded up at Nahant for lease return.

However, this certainly could be plausible if CP has SD40-2s it owns stored, and the lease rate on the ICE SD40-2s is high.

Would surprise me, I had a feeling this would happen with Hunter Harrison in charge. Also heard the Soo SD60 rebuild program has been cancelled, any truth to that?

Several of the 6400 series ICE engines have now been relettered for HLCX (Helm) and have had the Iowa, Chicago, and Eastern lettering on their sides taken off.

Thanks for the update, Nahant. It's sounding like traces of the ICE are going to be hard to find in the near future. CP assimilation complete.

just saw a photo of HLCX GP40-2's #4211, 4212, 4214 and 4217 which are former ICE units of the same number. The units are enroute to Metro East Industries. It was reported that all 10 of the lease returned GP40-2's would head there.
