Default A couple of rejects ...

Hi,

it's my first visit to the forum and I have only a few pictures on the main web site - I have tried uploading some new ones and, surprise surprise, they have been rejected. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions, in particualr the 'Bad Cropping' on the first picture:

Any comments would be appreciated!

The first shot is very nice. I think they'd perfer a closer crop eliminating alot of the superfluous background... like the trees on either side of the train, and the sky (especially the wire). I personally like the foreground; I love a good wooden post fence as a prop in any shot

Second shot, well... they don't like cloudy days unless it's very dramatic.

Thanks for the suggestions - a lot of the photos on here incorporate the scenery around them so I was surprised to get rejected so out of hand on that count!

As for the other pic, it is fairly dramatic for a UK diesel!

Still, I shall try again.

Ian, just lighten up the 2nd rejection. They might kick it for cloudy though. Remember that RP accepts great images of trains. They don't accept a "great story" wedgie image, no matter how significant it is to you. It'd be a different story if there was sun and what not. Great images though, in my opinion.

The additional scenery needs to be interesting. Making the train smaller and adding more of the same trees/grass/sky does not work. Just trim it some all around. Not too much - don't make it tight like the other shot.
