Default Easter Sunday rail traffic?

Hi,
I was wondering how much the freight traffic is changed on Easter Sunday versus a regular one? Any information on how it changes in your general area would be appreciated! I would think it would be slower but what percent of the normal trains usually run. Any train personnel what to help on this one?

Thanks, Rich Clark

eh, not really. I wouldn't say that nothing runs on sunday, but not a lot. Your best bet is right before or after Easter, when the railroad p[ushes to get traffic into there destinations.

i would imagine that the traffic doesnt go down much... Maybe the yards stop working, but the road dogs are still running...

If you go out, I doubt you'll even notice. A couple yard jobs may get pulled but the road will still go going 100%. If it's sunny and you have some free time, don't worry about the holiday. The only holidays the railroads really slow down for are Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.

The railroad doesnt have hollidays weekends snow days etc. We are on call 24-7. My birthday was a week ago Friday and I actually got to run a Z train in daylight over the Cascades. It was nice. I only had to work 10 hrs that day.

Well Tag and Mike I like my chances of shooting some shots if I get a chance to go out after reading your posts, thanks. What type of guarantee comes with your confident statements ?

I guess I'll know in a week if the weather and time cooperate.
