Be sure to know where the sun is. In this picture, the sky is white. Either it was overcast or the sun was behind the locomotive. Nice detail on the loco, and it is well lit without shadow.

Keep practicing. This is the best one I have seen of yours yet.

Much better shot than the one you posted the other day; looks like you got the focus thing figured out. But the sky looks washed out, perhaps the sun was obscurred by some thin cirrus or haze...

I doubt it. It may have been a sunny day, but as you can see, the sun was not shining on the locomotive. That is an interesting spot for a photo, though. It almost tells a story about life by/on the tracks.

My advice would be to figure out when the sun will shine down into that urban ravine, and hope that you can catch a train there then. If you can catch a sunlit train there, it will be a very interesting shot.

EDIT: Let me clarify. The shot is still interesting as it is now, it just doesn't meet the photographic requirements of this site. Combine that scene with good light, and you'll have a winner.

thanks for the nice replay.
i will try to go there again and wait for sunny time and catch some pix(i hope that the sun come decent time for trains).
its really anice spot to catch pix as its the center of my city and also u can see the control tower #2 of the central station of my city.
(this control tower was built in 1950) from 55 years.

Did you upload the photo to the website from your camera as is? Did you do any post processing? If not, good post processing software is a must.

Nice shot, Mohamed. It's just the clouds did it to this one. I can tell you had some sunlight for it. Try this one again when there is better light.

im really very happy for the nice replays .
i have fixed somethings in this pic on the (picasa) before uploading it but it was rejected.
i went to this point today at 10:30am but i couldnot catch any pix today as there was alot of security and police men there as the manager of (middle delta railways) was on asmall trip to see operations of fixing the line.
i will try again and again as i wanna to make egypt amember in this huge database like the other countries of the world .
