Definitely smells like a scrapped 7D Mark II project to me. Back to the drawing board for Canon.

I just got my camera back from repair - what do you know, when things look less then sharp, it might in fact BE the damn camera.

Anyway - click, click, click, click, click, click, click... I was amazed to get about 17 frames (not 25) and sometimes even 19. Very cool!

Time zone feature - sounds interesting.

The rest - well, I wouldn't call it an almost all new camera.

How about ISO 50, 25, 10 ect. Getting tired of carrying ND filters.
How about Nikon-izing the thumb views and magnifications and
once and for all dumping that opaque white box and the first
giant leap crop??

Still - not bad as a N/C update!

Maybe they have R and D working overtime on something much bigger, Nikon is kind of kicking Canons butts of late, Why bring out a so so camera now?

Very true. I should have reworded it as not a scrapped Mk II, but a way of keeping the consumer happy whilst Canon develops a thoroughly wicked 7D replacement.

It is a great camera and will be hard to make one to top it, Thing is till someone comes up with some staggering new tech they wont be out putting like years past. The one thing thats out there is the new Fuji Film Xpro1 that has a 16 MP .5 chip that rivals Canons 5Dmk2 for high ISO's and will match Canons FF 21 MP.
So in the next 2 years some big and worth while cameras will be dropping in on U.S.
