What are catfish really?
A tasty freshwater fish, especially when served up breaded in cornmeal and then deep fried.

I know what catfish is. It's my favorite to fish for and eat. I'm talking about NS catfish. I forgot to put that in the last line.

You are correct in assuming that an NS GE C40-9W is refered to by NS fans as a "Catfish."

The inexperience is glaring. You've never been anywhere but your backyard obviously.

So if I go to the front yard, I shall be enlightened and gain this experience which I apparently do not possess?

I agree with you, NS is way better than the CSX, at least until UP takes it over.

You were talking railfanning, not corporate. CSX has major cultural issues and there is no doubt NS is doing very well. But your "railfanning" observation comparing the NS in your area to CSX is rather ridiculous when it comes to comparing the two companies. You want to see CSX trains running like street cars? That can be arranged by a day trip.

Default Which is better......

NS is FAR better than CSX, because CSX is changing horns on their ex-CR locomotives .

Joe is right, "catfish" and "Crap9s" are the nicknames for the NS C40-9Ws from us Northeasterners .

Mike, don't forget the all-important "Enhanced Flamethrower" moniker.
