Just PA and NJ for me. I've been to several other states (8 to be exact), but most of that was before I even took photos or when I was just learning photography.

My fifty-ish photos are from California and Nevada... I've got a travel voucher and lots of money so when I get a chance I'm planning on going around the US.

Try driving east or west across Tennessee.

Hint: It's 450 miles.

I'm just at five --

South Carolina
North Carolina
Georgia
Virginia
Pennsylvania

Working in TV news on the working side of the camera does not lead to many big pay days, but it did get me up to Pennsylvania to see the ex-L&C 2-8-0 on the New Hope & Ivyland all costs taken care off with the exception of snacks. I tried to sneak off of I-95 here and there for photo ops, but the only one I found was in Doswell, Va.

Lots of photo ops missed, but driving from Lancaster, SC to New Hope, PA one day, shooting the steam engine on the next and making the drive back on the third day does not lend itself well to much other train shooting.

In 1999, 2000, I was able to shoot in Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississipi, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Illinois and Kentucky. I saw a lot of neat things and actually moved to Memphis for a short time. Unfortunately, I was shooting only print film. No slides. And all of that print film looks like it was shot on print film.

Had a great time, but I wasted a lot of money not learning more about slide photography.

Now, we have a six and sewven year old and we keep having to postpoine trips back out to Memphis or up to Pennsylvania. We had planned an either/or this year, but now it's neither. Our back-up plan was Jacksonville, but that was scaled back because of finances to a weekend in Savanah. Now we're going to be lucky if we can day trip Savanah.

Talking No state to be in a State

Canadian eh. So I just spent 10 days in SoCal and this is all I have to show for rail pics. [Just east of Ludlow] Not even worthy of submission. My travelling partner was not into railfanning.
But I got lots of great high desert scenery shots, and a suntan.
