Default Recent Rejects

My second post here Got a couple of shots rejected yesterday and would be interested to see what others think about them.

The first was rejected for:
- Poor lighting (Backlit): The image is backlit or doesn't feature enough nose light on the subject.
- Undersharpened (Soft):

I realise that it is backlit, but how else do you get a glint shot that is not backlit? Had a close look at the scan and noticed that it was a bit soft (need new glasses ) so I sharpened it as much as possible, resubmitted, and it was rejected for the same reason.

The third was rejected for:
- Bad Color: Not enough color depth or too much color saturation.
I don't really understand "Not enough color depth or too much color saturation" It's a scan of a correctly exposed K64 slide (if that makes a difference ) and any adjustments to the hue/saturation/curves etc make it look worse. It was shot in late Spring in the tropics, so the trees etc are a dark, intense green.

Any suggestions, comments?

the second version of the first shot looks pretty good to me, maybe a little lean to the right, but hardly noticeable. However, RP almost never allows backlit shots in unless it's a sunset/sunrise shot. You can always appeal, but I'm not sure your luck will change.

It's a verygood shot though.

The next shot does have a green tint to itand it has nothing to dowith the trees. Look at the sky and the ballast, even the poles. A color correction through post process would probably cure this shot of what ails it. Good shots though.
