The first place that came to mind was Marion, Ohio. MAN, what a difference 30+ years makes. I can't find any pics taken from the exact same location, but here are a few around the diamonds. They should speak volumes of the major changes there.

I'm coming up empty on finding more shots in the database of areas that I know, but while we're at it--

"The more things change, the more they stay the same..."

The only thing different is the paint job and the time of year:

It looks like the pole line lost a top crossarm full of wires in those 12 years, but at least the line is still there.

Yes, great thread! And it gives me another opportunity to point out that if you're digitally removing wires or poles or other landmarks from your shots, you will not be able to accurately compare your shot today to one taken years down the road like we are in this thread. Anyway, here is the one I had in the back of my head (and one I think I did a thread on about past vs. present ops):

There's no date on this, but I'm going to guess that this is 1994 or so. The track on the right side was, at the time, the interchange track between the GTW Flint Subdivision, and CSX's Plymouth sub, which crosses the Flint sub at Trowbridge Jct. about 1/4 mile away to the west. It was removed in 1996/1997.
Here's a 2006 version of the same location, from almost the same angle.
