Ok, i'm going to say that those are a couple good photos, even if one of them might be a little unlevel. Not egregious and certainly they don't belong in this thread... this is for grossly crappy shots which get accepted

I've had shots rejected for less unlevelness than this. No excuse for a broadside view to be off IMO.

There is the editing miscue in the upper right, a whatever superimposed on the tender, I assume is not supposed to be there, the shadows are a little shaky.
I allow that the water tank is actually tilted.

I looked at this since I had a night shot at Chama, not part of a photo shoot that was rejected as too dark. Ok, but then I see what I guess is photo shoot shot. Nice scene for sure but ......

Oh yeah, the infernal internal lens reflection of bright lights. I used a Fujica V2 occasionally. A generally good performer, except the internal reflections were like a Star Wars light sabre. Before Photoshop, about the only cure was to place a bright highlight dead center.

Looks like the cloning tool didn't work out for him too well...

It's a pretty easy fix. Curious why he went to all the trouble to get the shot but didn't clone out the green ghosting.
I'll add that I think I would have shot this as a vertical.

Probably rotated the shot and didn't want to crop off the top, so what to do? Clone a bit of what's below. But then didn't blend it in!

Really nice scene, though.

What I was figuring too. The bottom left of the photo is suffering from the same ailment.

That's not a cloning issue. He definitely rotated the top layer, leaving a portion of the bottom layer still visible, and then forgot to crop.

That's terrible, especially coming from a very good photographer. I'm not sure how you can overlook something like that, especially with processing a previous image from the exact same spot.

It's not like he's gotta beat people to the computer to upload his first lol.

Unlike the bomb that is about to be dropped onto RP this Saturday...

I am very happy to be shooting that this coming Saturday and then uploading to Flickr, Facebook and Joe the Photog Dot Com. It's nice to realize that railroad photography is a fun hobby again and not a competition. Let others fret over rejections and Top 24s.

A friend passes this comment along:

"That bomb will explode Thursday, only lingering fumes by Saturday."

Satan riding in a pink circus wagon could be attached behind the 800 and 3632 Saturday morning, and it won't affect the turnout

The 75th Annual Santa Train on CSX, running the former Clinchfield with CRR-painted F3 and SD45, in addition to the F40PHs (for head-end power). There are also rumors this could be the last year it runs.

Thanks for the info. Would be a nice catch for the bucket list but no room/time in my schedule.

If so, the spirit of Scrooge lives on. It's hard to put a dollar value on good will.
