Actually, nothing, since the shadows cover part of the image of the train, if you lighten up the image, the shadows are still there. Although there are shadows visable on the side of the first picture, I think the lack of sun on the nose is probably what they are talking about.

Look at the track before you shoot a picture, and shoot at a location where shadows do not fall across the track (thus on your subject).

A little bit sad ...

But is it really " Distracting Shadows " in the second photo ?
http://www.railpictures.net/viewreject.php?id=195200

At least I can't see at the front of the locomotive ...

I like the composition and location, but in their current form, they are probably best for your personal collection.

The location that you took makes it difficult to take a picture without there being shadows, but if you take it during the high point of the sun, you might find them to be less. That's just a guess on my part though.

When one gets the 'Zebra' look from shadows it is tough to keep ones eye on the subject and not the dark and light patterns. I can see why you like the shots, but also why they were not accepted.

For the first one, I see some shadows on the side and surrounding the locomotive.

For the second one, it looks like you don't have the best sunlight on the nose of the locomotive (backlit).

Nice shots but I'd try again when there aren't as many shadows.

I tried to upload the second photo again
after removed all the shadows caused by the pole .
And it rejected , the reson is Distracting Shadows .
Like what you said ,
I think this look backlit more than Distracting Shadows .

Do you see any shadows ( caused by the pole ) ?http://www.railpictures.net/viewreject.php?id=195770

I would be careful about manipulating photos and representing them as how it actually happened...

Good advice, but I don't think there's anything wrong with some minor touch-up work especially when removing some minor shadows.

Now if it's a major rework, then I think that's wrong. If the image is not genuinely depicting real life, then there are other places to post that kind of creative editing.

If I recall, there was a photo of the day (or week) I saw recently that I thought may have been modified in this way, but I could be wrong. It's often difficult to tell.

Do you mean the DF11 ?
But if you look at the side view of DF11 ,
I think you won't say that ~
http://www.railpictures.net/showphot...ocomotive=DF11

Is THE TURBO TRAIN made in Egypt or
inport from other countries ?
