Default Rejected for something I thought wasn't an issue

This shot was rejected for composition issues. I very clearly followed the rule of thirds here. I've tried appealing this and failed.

In another thread, more than one person said that the composition was good...

It's vertically dead-center. And dark. Maybe a full f-stop too dark.

Well, the SP unit, i.e. probably the focal point of the image, is in the left third. And this is on the lit side.

Something like this might??? work. I don't think you want puddles and a parking lot in the foreground. They talk about the rule of thirds and I got some flack in saying this before but it also seems like a good elimination tool.

At any rate if the SP unit is the focal point you don't need all that distant extra stuff.
Of course it would be better if you took the shot somewhat near that way to start, if yu have one ??? Still it is a roster shot in the yard but then I am surprised daily what I see.

If the shot was a dead-broadside, then you would want some of the foreground in this shot, although still not as much as we see in that frame. Because it's still in the wedge category, you'd need to trim off a bunch of the bottom. Remember where the "third points" are in the frame. None of them are on the center line. I also agree that the shot is underexposed by quite a bit. I am surprised that the screener didn't mention that.

Both issues are potentially fixable.

Ok, I re-edited the photo. This is what I've gotten.

The original edit was rejected for bad composition.
