I stopped watching train shows on the History Channel when they said King Street Station in Seattle was built and owned by the Northern Pacific.

They seem to manage to get a lot of stuff wrong on those shows.

Modern Marvels is one of my favorite shows.

In response to your question, I have probably seen it before but didn't see it that night.

Most of the Modern Marvels train episodes are actually from the "Trains Unlimited" series back in the mid '90s. I spent many Sunday's recording these episodes, lol.

This episode was actually brand new. I happened to catch the last 10 min. of it and from what I saw I think I want to see this episode again. They were showing BNSF's dispatching headquarters in Ft. Worth at the very end. The building had the new BNSF logo on the wall and everything.

It's supposed to re-air on Saturday at 1 PM CDT.

Yes this is true. I saw it a few days ago and thought it was excellent. It first gives you a tour of UP's Bailey Yard, informing you about yard and train operations, then talks about the history of freight trains. Next they take you to the General Electric Locomotive plant to see exactly how a new GEVO is built. Then the best part: they go up into the cab of a BNSF frieght train heading through Cajon Pass, sorta giving the viewer a cab ride. The engineer speaks a lot about how the locomotive works and the new technologies in a GEVO. Lastly, dispatching and new rail technologies are talked about. Highly recommended!

yeah i caught the last 1/2 hr of it, i missed the UP part, shucks. Anyways i was happy to see that the history channel finnaly gave some credit to the Railroads. They always show episodes about mega machines and all that stuff about truckers but they never (until now) gave a look at the real giant on this planet, the one that keeps the world running.

I meant to watch that, but was preoccupied with the White Sox game over on the Eastern Sports Propaganda Network. I also missed the re-airing of it. Either way, it'll probably be back on again in the future. Modern Marvels is probably my favorite show on TV.
