Default submitting pictures

I Am Trying To Submit Some Pictures I Took And The Requirements To Submit A Photo To Railpictures.net Is That The File Size Can't Be More Than 1mb. All Of My Pictures Range In The 2.0-2.75mb Range. How Can I Reduce The File Size So I Can Submit My Pictures? I Have A 6.1mp Camera, But I Know That The Pictures That I Have Seen On This Web Site Had To Have Been Taken With A Good Quality Camera And Those Pictures File Size Normally Range From 450kb-750kb. Please Help So I Can Add My Pictures To This Collection.

I take it your not resizing your photos after you take them off the camera? Thats the reasoning why the image size is so large. You'll need to open up the photo in a photo editor and resize it to 1024x768 or 800x600 and that will also shrink the file size down.

No, I Have Not Resized The Picture, It Is Still Origional Size Something Like 2500x1700. By Resizing Will It Take Away From The Surrounding Scenery That I Captured With The Train? Thanks For The Help.

It will only take away from the scenery if you crop that out. Resizing just changes the dimensions.

Some use photoshop or other image program to perform this function.

Photoshop has a "Save for the Web" feature that will allow you to dial-down the size of the photo. Use that after cropping.

It will be the same photo, just smaller in size. Also, it's not always fair when people with smaller screen dimensions have to load images 4 times as big as their monitor.
