Default Not The Reason I Expected

I knew this being accepted was a long shot, since it was so cloudy, but is a PEQ really an appropriate rejection for this? I'm certainly not going to fight it, my life does not revolve around getting photos uploaded on RP (Shh... Don't tell anyone...), just curiosity getting the best of me...

Try a tighter crop with the bridge if you can. way too much foreground and the vehicles add little to the photo. Frame the train with the bridge, nobody really cares about streets, dirt, and grass, but the clouds are almost interesting.

Don't wanna start another thread so here's a PEQ I got just now. Wasn't surprised really, kinda figured it was a stretch, probably would of been better with a longer exposure. http://www.railpictures.net/viewreje...06&key=5338158

I did make a tighter crop, I may upload it in a day or two, to let the screeners forget about it.

As for yours, Glenn, I thinks yours should have been a little longer and unfortunately, your lens beat you here, wider would have looked better in my opinion.

You may need to go tighter, but you may also get the Cloudy/Common rejection.

Your issue here is not exposure, but rather an FRA issue. Unless you note in the comments that you were onboard with permission, then the shot will be PEQ'd.

I don't think you can salvage anything from this one. I would have gigged it for PEQ as well.

For what it is worth, Glenn, I love your shot. Not an easy shot to get. Great lighting, color, and composition. Way too artsy for RP but, damn it boy, its cool!

"Artsy"? It's actually very conventional, I would think. A tighter crop might have salvaged the shot, but it just seems to be missing a photographic objective.

But...what do I know?

I agree, it's not artsy, but a sunny day, better cropped version of it, with the locomotive about 25-50 feet more away from the photographer would look nice enough.

Ron was talking about Glenn's shot, not Kyle's GT shot.
