Default Bad cropping

I've tried this several times, each time giving up a little more foreground. Does RP want a little bit more or is there something I'm missing in what they're looking for?

At the risk of being really snarky, dude, where's the train? I mean, why did you let the power get behind the tower? RP is doing you no favors by not geving you a Foreground Clutter rejection, becase this shot will never make the database. I'd seriously like to know if you think this shot deserves to get in the database.

First, show us what the original looks like.
Second, the scene has a lot of appealing elements.
Third, I don't think this shot will ever get in.
BUT, it looks like a pretty cool place to shoot and I think you could get something similar in.

If by similiar you mean showing the head end of the train ubobstructed, then, yes, he could get something similiar in. Another thing he could have done is to lt the power totally get out of sight, then shoot this with a slow shutter speed blurring the cars a litte. What he did makes it look like he got up to the scene ten seconds too late and missed the front of the train.

If RP wants the whole locomotive, then I'll stop trying to submit. I don't think it's necessary in this case. I like how no markings are visible from the locomotive, but instead the CN is on the ballast cars I'll admit I was lazy with my caption. I was going to bring in the tower operator waving to the train. I was trying to use the repeating pattern of the ballast cars. But the biggest element is the leading lines of the UP crossing. In retrospect, I wonder if I should have looked ward more to the sky.

the original and prior shot-talk about obstructing foreground clutter.... The SD75I is too long for the crossing

The long hood forward isnt working in this case, you need a train short hood forward ten it would be alright if the back of the unit is obstructed by the grade crossing mast. Or a geep would do the trick.
more pointless view whoring

Agreed. I have been LHF f'ed, too on a shot that would have worked great looking down a road to a grade crossing. But since they were running LH, it went directly to the Not For Public Consumption file, the same place this one hould have gone, too.
