Well, Mike B has his ways, not always the best in communicating, but in some small or tangential way, at least if I am reading him correctly, I agree.

PEQ is a matter of taste, and this one seems completely so. Either you like it or you don't. RP doesn't. End of story. There is nothing to suggest. I don't see any adjustments to cropping or so forth that push the problem away from this essential point.

I'd be willing to be that if you got a nice in the cab shot that showed the "controls" of that locomotive (a lone valve to sound the whistle, IIRC), then maybe you'd have something the screeners would accept.

There's nothing wrong with your shot... it's just not something railpictures.net wants.

I think Nick's point is really well taken... showing a touch of inside the cab would allow us to locate ourselves better, and would give the image more drama.

I believe this Thomas is a Dummy so no cab controls really. I dont have a problem with the shot and I think it should have been accepted.

I agree, sorta a view the normal people don't see...

I see a view, but it's usually from a P42 or a F59...

I love in-cab views of the track ahead. I love cab forward trains where the engineer leaves the door open.

I agree. It's a unique perspective that I doubt has ever been shown before. It looks like high sun, but it's not too unappealing for this shot, as the blue paint contrasts nicely with the surroundings. Needs just a slight clockwise rotation, though.

I like it.

But my taste and RP's taste are usually in disagreement. Which is okay.
