Default Metra deadheads at night.

Every night when its late, I can hear Metras going north, usually they dont even stop at the station. Are they repositioning for the morning commute into the city, just curious, I thought it was odd that they were traveling through, I think I heard maybe ey 4 last nigth accompanied by a freight here and there.

I know these are metras by the sound of the locomotive, the freights have a totally different sound. I live close to the Union Pacific North Line, and it sounds as if they are going north, so I am assuming they are going to kenosha to reposition for the next day.
