Default Interesting Photo from the Altoona Works Facebook Page.

For those of you not on Facebook, and for those not subscribed to the Altoona Works Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/altoonaworks) I just wanted to share the following photo that appears on that page with the caption below.

Name: 427087_10152017477245637_737216030_n.jpg
Views: 919
Size: 92.5 KB

Caption: "NKP 765 will make 6 trips out of Conway this weekend at 9, 12, 3, and 6 (deadhead trip to get the train facing the right way) on Saturday and 9 and 12 on Sunday. Don't be this guy while trying to get your photos. Respect railroad property and "photo lines." (Emphasis added.)

I know many of the regulars have already seen this, but I think it is relevant because it shows what not to do when out taking pictures.

Further, were NS wishing to prosecute this person for trespass, this photo would be conclusive proof of such a trespass.

Enjoy!

Of course you're referring to pulling one's socks halfway up to the knees?

Ok, I'll bite. What is wrong with socks halfway up to the knees, and what is wrong with the shorts in the shot? Are they cutoffs, and are cutoffs now bad?

J, who is noticing that what he thought was the standard rule, no dark/black socks with shorts, the usual thing one laughs at elderly men for doing, is now beginning to appear as, presumably, a fashionable look for young people. And so the circle of fashion continues rotating, around and around ...

I figured out who it was. For once, I'm speechless.

Seems all is still quiet on the West Slope tonight.

Yuk, yuk, yuk.

Yes J, it is tough keeping up with style. Today, the shorts need to be almost as long as "high-water" pants....the kind that nerdy scientists and engineers used to wear. Tight is out, loose is in. Also, the crotch needs to be 6" above the railhead. Socks worn with shorts should be barely visible, assuming you wear any at all.

Actually, the first thing I noticed about that photo had nothing to do with trespassing or fashion. God, there are a lot of lifted spikes in that stretch of track!

Well, after I saw the comments, I figured out that there is a difference between a "crew" sock and the next longer length. I have the crew, so I guess I am not scorned for that particular aspect of my appearance.

I presume other aspects are less well regarded!
