It needs some more saturation, and should be good to go. The colors are a bit dull, and lifeless.

I agree it needs more saturation...but I think I'd pull out some blue and sharpen a bit as well.

Yes, just a hit with saturation and you should be good to go if they accept the angle/composition afterwards.

Good job Aleks, and good job for proving me wrong on the cropping, haha.

I too would have thought this one would be dinged for bad cropping. Too much ground, not enough sky I would say.

No, it's pretty much centered. You were 1/4 right, haha.

I think the ground and sky are pretty much in balance... the station's tower may block some sky, but other than that they appear balanced.

While the elements of the photo can be "balanced" by measuring with a ruler, doing this screws up the composition I feel. Too much ground in this shot makes the image bottom heavy.
Thus, compositionally speaking, off-center=better.
Here's my take with the image. I would have included more sky if it was there.
Of course, it's in the DB now so this is just folderol on my part.

My folde-whatever is different from yours. (Nice word choice, BTW!) I find yours cramped, especially at the bottom but also on the left, and greatly prefer the accepted. I might have cropped just a bit from the bottom, to get rid of the shadow on the bottom edge, but that is all.

Well, that is the risk in not working from the original.
I agree my crop isn't very good either except for the fact I like it better than the accepted one!
I would like more top, more of the building on the right, and yes, more on the left.
