I don't understand pathological hatred of Railpictures from that group. They say they don't care about being rejected, but it kinda seems like they were terribly aggrieved by being rejected.

Mental illness - you don't grow out of it and it tends to get more pronounced with age.

And 2 of the 4 PCAs. I knew this one was swimming upstream thanks to NS Heritage foam:

Wow...what a shame. I missed that one the first time around. I certainly would have voted for it had I seen it.

I am done commenting about this thread since the subject matter has become too controversial.

However, I believe support for my original point will continue to be submitted.

Bad contrast and slightly overexposed. I could have that shot looking GREAT with a little tweaking.

This one is a great candidate to have been rejected, with instructions to fix it. It's just too easy to correct!

They are both great shots in my book, a little contrast on the bridge shot would've been nice but oh well. Its def not high sun.

Ugh, I was sitting in my car listening to the scanner on my lunch break, when 8105 was about to cross into Virginia.. Sucks too, the light would have been perfect.

Lets face it, the heritage units are gonna outview about everything unless Railgirls starts submitting to RP. Can you blame people for being excited?

That was my point in this shot.

By the way, that's Casey Thomason standing on the roof of the NS SUV. Yes, his shot at Strawberry Plains (on the bridge) was a bit too "hot," but Casey downloads, processes and uploads these images on the road--using a laptop. I'm sure some more tweaking at home, on a full sized computer screen would yield a slightly better image.

Still, you can't argue about the appeal of these units. My old sore feet were giving me a fit, so I passed up the Natural Tunnel photo op since it's a bit of a "hike in." Instead, my wife and I drove up to Andover Shop late last night for this one. I worked there over 40 years ago, and the guys there were proud as punch of this unit.

The Norfolk Southern unit is rolling out today (about 9:30 this morning, eastern).
