I'd say the sharpening is about right now (I've seen blurrier than this get onto the site before)- but the rail heads in the foreground are just beginning to go jaggy, but IMHO its still a tad over exposed - not by much though.

You would? You have ????

It doesn't look at all good to me. Just overall poor image quality. Doesn't look fixable but then I haven't seen the original file.

Well, it could be this monitor. On the other hand, while this monitor is lousy for color/contrast, it in the past has been fine for sharpness. And this shot isn't even close in quality to any of the accepted shots that I have viewed today. A mystery. I wonder what others will say.

Looks acceptable on my monitor and I agree with Steve's first comment.

OK, doesn't look THAT bad here either. I wonder if I somehow changed a setting on the other computer.

Still doesn't look great, though, don't know why. Ballast does not look good, that is the first place I look.

Without a doubt, the second one definitely looks better. The first one looks a little too washed out, and still seems to be slightly blurry.

Whereabouts is this? Looks like a location I should get out to.

Image quality looks the same (which I thought looked fine to begin with), but it looks MUCH richer now with the increased contrast and saturation. The colors POP! Nice job.

The help i have recieved ever since joining the forums has been first rate and i never have a beef with the screeners it must be a tough job and they do it well even if not everyone agrees. They don't have the time to give exact rejections and it can take a while to work out the problem, thats where the forum works best. Now this shot has in the db i have a better understsnding of the processing part,it is probably the biggest part of getting the shot to its best.
BTW Jim that avatar of yours looks over worked and in need of sleep either that or he's a party animal
thanks for the thumbnail Steve i still haven't worked that out poor student i guess

Mark, the string [photoid=XXXXXX], where XXXXXX is the ID # of the image, will insert the thumbnail in a forum post.

Other than the lighting, image quality looks OK to me. I had a hard time deciding if there was any noise on the loco front, but I think its just dirt and grime.
