Default NS 3329......Gone!

NS 3329 was in some form of a wreck lately that has caused it to have much damage done to it's carbody, and the unit is in need of a new prime mover. Unfortunately, upon all of these repairs, NS is planning to repaint the unit - to black/white.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

The only bright side is that NS had let the paint get ratty, or the paint job was poorly done. A number of shots I had seen looked as though it was a fallen flag in original paint. Bit of an exaggeration, but not much.

For the other west coast railfans who don't know what loco they're talking about, I've just saved you 10 seconds of searching:

The unit was not involved in a wreck but did have some damage done to the long hood. I am not aware how long it will take to repair but it has been marked off for a repaint. Whether or not into NS black or some type of special paint has not been confirmed yet.

I never saw this one in the M-S paint and though I wanted to, I'm very glad it's getting repainted and not scrapped. Keep all the SD40-2s that you can.... anything to save a train here or there from having a wide nose on lead.
