Where is this at? I am very impressed with the bent axle, I have a photo of a broken wheel from the D&H back when I worked there somewhere in the many boxes of slides.....

You know... with the amount of views that derailment shots get here on RP, I'll bet this park sees many railfans!

Interesting find, Travis; I've never seen a derailment park before!

As far as derailment monuments go, that one is pretty cool. That axle is great as a focal point and attention grabber, but the assortment of track and car parts around the axle is a nice touch.

There is a monument in Graniteville, SC., in memory of the victims of an NS traincrash there that killed nine and appearantly lead to the bankruptcy of the towns main employer, Avondale Mills, where the derailment occured. I was there in 2007, and as stated, it's a memorial to the victims, but a derailment monument none the less. Never saw a train roll through town when I was there, BTW.
