Default DWP units

It looks like Union Pacific's MASIH 22 and MASCH 21 will both be leaving A&S today with DWP units.

DWP 5902 will be on MASIH 22 which just left A&S on the 23rd at 8:00 a.m.

-Are the 5300's SD40-2W's?
-Where are the trains destined?

Yes, they are SD40-2Ws.
Both trains are destined to the Chicago area.

Rats. There's still a chance they might be assigned to a train bound for Minnesota. (Northtown or Dilworth.)

Well thanks for the heads up. I was able to get a few shots of DWP 5905 on MASCH. I doubt they'll get accepted here since the lighting wasn't ideal as the train was coming from the south. Still, quite cool to see and I have a nice roster for my personal collection.

There's always hope, although this power usually gets interchanged back to CN or turned back on a southbound UP.

I just saw 5905 a few weeks ago in Cumberland, MD heading West on the CSX Mountain Subdivision. Was part of the lashup on Q317.

Last month, I saw a CN engine up here. Unfortunately, it was the 4th unit, it was going away from the road and it was cloudy.

I guess I'll have to go to Wisconsin to catch some good CN action.

Yes, more often, CN units are on the daily Wisconsin Central 405/406.

. By the way, the lead unit is marked DWP.

I have never ever had any luck catching the daily WC. I think once, maybe 5 years ago, I saw it at Doswell ave. with 2 F45's.
