Default Is 16:9 ratio accepted ?

Hello,

Tried to search along the forums or website but coulsn't get any answer. Would a 16:9 ratio pic (1024*576 like the one here) be accepted in the database ?

Thanks

Renaud

The suggested optimal resolution is 1024x650... I think. Generally as long as it's a rectangle, they're cool with it. You might want to try adding a little more height to be sure.

OG is correct with the dimensions:

Quote:
Optimal size for uploaded images is 1024 pixels wide x 650 pixels high and at a similiar ratio.

Renauld, let's be clear. There is the recommended ratio, but RP accepts a wide range of ratios and I often pick a non-standard ratio because I usually crop without regard to the ratios. A couple of things. First, shots that are more square than 5:4 in either direction seem to be frowned upon. Second, shots narrower than 3:2, such as 16:9, to a lesser extent seem to be frowned upon also. I say to a lesser extent mainly because I haven't seen that many, either rejected or accepted. Surprising, given that trains are long and narrow, but that is what I have seen.

The one time I submitted narrower than 3:2, I put a justification into the remarks to the screener section when I submitted, and it was accepted. No guarantees!
