Default High sun opinions

Thought I got this shot before the sun got too high. Is there not enough angled light on the trucks?

You beat the shadows on the side, but it was too late on the front (look at the pilot/plow area).

It's one of those things where had it not been a common subject, you might have gotten away with it (same shot taken forty years ago, would be in, or a rare movement would be in).

The location is good but the sun is a bit harsh. What's the blob over the cab? BTW, is that restaurant still in business at the station? Pretty good place last time I was there in 2002.

With at least 60+ NS movements thru this area on any given day... simply go back when the lighting is a bit more favorable and it should easily make the cut. There are plenty of places around Latrobe for morning photo opps

The restaurant is still there and going strong. I was on vacation for a day but I got some good shots later in the afternoon. I will definitely have to go back some day, what a great spot for watching trains.

High Sun makes summer time rail fanning while on vacation challenging.

One must get up at the crack of dawn to get the morning light, but by the time the light is done around 10:30, you have to check out of the hotel and wait until like 4pm.

Don't be fooled, you can get high sun rejections in the dead of Winter too.

It is an issue of shadows on the subject more than the season or time of day.
