Default Bad color

Hi all, got a bad color reject on this picture, i'm thinking it needs some more color, but i'd like some other opinions first. http://www.railpictures.net/viewreje...d=840306&key=0

Keane,

I am sorry to say that I don't believe that is the only problem with this shot (and of its problems, that is the least). I would keep this one for the personal collection. It appears to be oversharpened, the lighting looks poor - possibly high sun, possibly just a bad angle, the distance between the locomotive and the signs/old Dodge or Plymouth is too large for that angle, leaving a lot of dead space, and the tree has become more of your subject than the locomotive.

I'm sorry for the laundry list, but I wanted to be honest, rather than have you put a lot of time into working on one that I don't think is going to make it.

The shadows on the tree and the pilot of the locomotive are both bad. The lighting on both went away before you pressed the shutter.

The lighting was off to the side, and not over your right shoulder. And yes, it is high in that sky.

Somebody needs to get a new car...

I have not seen a dodge omni in years, and that one appears to be in pretty good shape, lol

Oversharpening would be my mistake and troy that happens to be my car... I did a rather poor job editing and i'll put the original on here just to see if its any better

There are too many things that are interesting in this shot other than the train
