Can somebody please explain what all the lights and weird contraption on top of this car is?

A converted Amfleet car, the Beech Grove is equipped with a small observation platform and plenty of lights for veiwing the track at nights. It also features a video camera (mounted in the housing above the platform) to allow passengers to view the track on monitors inside the car.

Car is named Beech Grove in honor of the Amtrak shops in Indianapolis. Recall the car was modified after wreck damage.
